Students of Brentwood Pittsburgh and Antioch, on behalf of Healthy Minds Counseling Center I would like to introduce you to the first art contest we will be hosting from October 15th through November 15th! Throughout the duration of this art contest, the center will be asking a variety of students from all schools within the district to take an introspective approach to their artwork they may be inspired to create and challenge themselves to create something that is appropriate for all ages and walks of life, but also be as thoughtful and inspired as possible. We would like to keep the art contest as open as possible to make it easy for the artists, but something that is encouraged of the artist is to write a paper in standard MLA format of how the process of creating the piece affected you, and how what you may have learned along the way, or what led you to choose whatever the piece may represent from your life. This will add a layer of depth and make it more unique to the artist. We want this contest to be both a place to share the great pieces all contestants will undoubtedly make while also being a chance to discover something about yourself or the world around you during the creative process.
